Usually consistant stop and go driving will do this. That is one of the conditions that will cause "squishy" brakes. Also the reason why it got firm again after waiting is becaused they cooled down to the point where they wouldn't expand due to the heat. To totally eliminate this in the future, replace them with stainless steel braided hoses. I remember seeing them for sale on one of the Delorean sites, I don't remember where. Maybe one of the other DMLers will know. --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxx, "Lowery, Dennis [C]" <loweryd@xxxx> wrote: > > Hello List, My Girlfriend and I were driving around this weekend looking at > houses in several different neighborhoods. Could this be related to the throw out bearing? It seems as if the gear and clutch "don't catch, then catch" repeatedly. It lessens as I get going. When fully warmed up, it smoothes out...Or, do I have a more serious problem, like the transmission? They are not uncommon and usually mean the master cylinder is failing. I would replace it before it gives out completely at the wrong time. I replaced mine with one from PJ Grady. Works fantastic and is adjustable for desired pedal height. Before you go onto my web page, please imagine the AOL sign on screen and the De Lorean, put them together then go on my web page. So please take another few minutes and check it out. Please remember that its sorta a big image so it will take some extra time to load, but after it loads it will repeat so you won't miss it. Everyone I showed it to, loved it, so please if you like it, send me an e-mail and let me know.
