You either have a bad ground or bad battery cell. The next time the
problem
appears try jump starting the car. The Ducellier alternator is not helping
the situation, I would suggest that you not venture too far from home
until
you retire your "Ducey goosey".

Felix. I had a simular experience a long time ago and flushed it out
with naptha, which is lighter fluid. B carefull not to rub on the
spot just flush it out. Naptha is a light cleaner for chemical
spills. The other things you tried won't effect it because your
trying to mix oil ( chemical ) and water. One normally won't clean
the other unless it has a degreaser in it. Gasoline has oil in it but
naptha doesn't. You can buy it at Home Depot and i'm sure at other
places like that in the paint section. It will take the oil out of
the bumper. Then you will have to let air dry then apply armor-all.If
you don't see any damage on the bumper, then mother nature will take
care of it in a few day's with just plain weathering.

Does anyone have video tapes of John Delorean at Cleveland or of
interview on
tv that they could copy for me?
Dear List:
We've got 2 1/2 hours of video from the Cleveland Show weekend, and in the
process of making copies right now. We'll post more information about the
contents towards the end of July.

Subject: Installing antenna
Hello,
I am installing a aftermarket power antenna on my car. I have one
question. It says "connect the blue wire from the antenna to power
antenna
wire from radio(usually blue) using quick connector provided" does anyone
know which color wire it is on a DeLorean Craig radio?
I have thought about making the dummy switch on the console raise and
lower the antenna. That would be much easier to install. but just
turning
the radio will work for me. please let me know about the antenna wire
Thank You
Dave

Thanks to all who offered cures to my "it suddenly wouldn't start, just
grunts" problem. I was skeptical of those who pointed at the battery
since
it's a Diehard Gold less than a year and a half old, plus it didn't
gradually
weaken. And being a daily driver, it knew didn't die in storage. But
hey,
you guys were right! Dead cell. and to think I blamed my D's
electricals!
Poor baby! The mechanic says even my "Ducey goosey" alternator is
charging
just fine (!) Not a "De Lorean problem," it's a SEARS problem!
Thanks again!

Terri Jennings Delorean parts is alive and well but the area code has
changed to 626 334-5262 from 818. Ask for Bert Middleton because he
takes care of all the business now.

Dear Larry,
Interesting to hear you have one of the training cars. I really like the
sticker. I have one that I believe was built on the temporary "Kerksite
(sp?)" exterior sheetmetal tooling. It is different in several details in
the way the metal was formed, however one striking feature is on the rear
door latch it does not have the cast aluminum guide as is standard in the
production units. It has simply a rough elongated slot cut in the metal
to
allow the body latch pin to access the rear door latch. This is not
simply
a matter of a missing guide casting. Does yours have the same feature? I
also do not have the vin # handy but it is close to yours.
Best Regards,
Donald L. Ekhoff
