The DeLorean door alignment procedure is extremely critical and labor
intensive even when performed by factory trained technicians. Most latching
problems can be corrected by adjusting the latch pins. The door hinges
should never be adjusted unless you are absolutely sure that the door is out
of alignment.

It's a sad day for me... I can't believe I have to say this.... I have to sell my DeLorean
vin 6298, nov. 81,no gas flap and no lines on hood, automatic (brand new tranny), engine has about 20k miles on it but the car has 53k miles on the clock, gray interior, wide dealer stripe, cold A/C, everything works (even the speedo), new fuel system, new Yokohama tires and a lot of other parts. Runs great - you can drive it home. Too many new parts to list here. I put a LOT of work in this car.
It is located in Clearwater, FL.

Don't bother! When the DeLorean was in the final stages of development
automobile sound quality was not a serious concern. The rear speakers in the
DeLorean are "free air" mounted; that means they are not coupled to an
enclosure or mounting board, an audio acoustic no-no, especially when it
comes to bass. High quality speakers mounted in the same mounting will only
deliver marginal bass.
It would be wiser to either mount a pair of speakers in the parcel shelf
rear wall or purchase hatchback or truck type box speakers and mount them on
the parcel shelf.
If your not real concerned about bass go ahead and replace the originals.

We use the same hose for all of our replacements and have never had a
problem with fit. You either have the wrong hose, are installing it
incorrectly, or have a missing or damaged hose "Q" clip. This clip or clamp
is designed to keep the hose from coming in contact with the AC drive belt.

I just tried mine. The needle ALWAYS parks wherever it is when the ignition
is switched to OFF. I tried it at several different RPM levels, high, low, in
between, and idle. It consistently parked exactly where it was when I switched
off the ignition. It always returns to zero when the the ignition is switched
to ON. It remains at zero if I turn the ignition ON, then OFF, without starting.
This is how it has worked for the last 18 years. Seems correct to me. If not,
it's been broken since new.
BTW, who cares as long as it works properly when the motor is running?

Hello,
After talking to a few DeLorean owners and 1 mechanic I think I have
found the problem with my rough idle and acceleration. It seems to have a
little trouble starting. it will sputter and then stall. Then the next time
you turn the key it comes to life instantly. It will not accelerate very
well at all. once you get to second geer it does better but still not
anything like it should. the engine has little tiny backfires when you give
it gas.
I think I may have a clogged injector. My car sat for about 11-12
months. Before starting it I drained the gas and did a quick fuel system
flush and I really dont even think it needed it. the gas was fine. I am
starting to think something may have got to one of the injectors somehow.
does this sound like it could be and injector? I tested the cold start valve
and it is working.
when it starts it spits out a little mist of gas or water from the
tailpipe. I dont think it is from water evaporation because it does it on
hot days too. I think I will go ahead and replace the injector after I find
out which one it is, or should I replace them all?. while I am doing this I
will replace the water hoses and dist cover etc. please let me know what you
all think. my car has 28k miles if u wanted to know.

I used the same set and I also had a problem making that long hose fit. Yes I had the Q
bracket installed. My new hose rubbed against the AC belt after the car warmed up. John
Truscott of the D.O.A. suggested that I cut the hose where it crosses the AC belt and
splice it with a piece of pipe. Now the hose fits better and is much tougher near the AC
belt.

What could it mean that the oil pressure guage is really jumpy. While it
never displays low or no pressure, while idoling and while driving the guage
jumps up and down and is quite erattic?

They are great when working on the cars or doing shows with doors open. They

Well things appear to be going good as we get closer to the show. We have a
number of special DeLoreans coming like the Time Machine, Gold Car and the
Tow Truck not to mention the first production DeLorean and the latest posting
from Kathryn Delorean stating that she and John are coming. But no show
could be complete without Curtis.
For those of you at the Cincinnati Show Curtis was the show. I think out of
214 people there he made friends with them all. And that wild car of his was
something that had us all talking.
I have been looking for him for months with no luck.
If anyone knows where Curtis is please contact me or tell him to gert in
touch with me.
Due to privacy I will not publish his last name but if anyone privately wants
to help just e-mail me.

I live in Pensacola, Florida and there is a restraunt called
McGuire's, it's a real Irish place. And the ceiling is covered in dollar
bills......everywhere, people sign them and you can staple it up anywhere
there's room.....you just gotta see it!
ANYWAY there is all kinds of things hanging from the walls and I've
been going to this restraunt for years and never noticed this but above a
hall-way and above some steps is a giant DMC sign. >From what I understand
(what the bartender told me) is that McGuire (the restraunt owner and real
Irish dude) got it on a trip over to Ireland (I don't know if he knew JZD)
and had it shipped back, right around the time "Back To The Future" came out.
IT's NOT A RINKY DINK SIGN, It's BIG. It's about 10 feet long and 4 or 5
feet tall. It's mounted on the wall and the top half looks like stainless
steal and has DMC cut out and has back lighting so DMC is actually lights.
And the bottom half is black and says DeLorean Motor Cars, which are also
cut out and have light behind, so they light up.
I'll try to take a picture soon, and scan it.
Anybody else seen a sign like this?
