The Renault literature uses neither. However people like said "CIS" to mean the injection system which is at odds with the only official literature which does use it. I'll stick to the Volvo useage therefore

Actually those are Volvo's English acronyms. I don't know if Bosch ever used acronyms itself (if you search through the yellow cover Bosch K-Jet manual no acronyms are used). DMC didn't use acronyms in the Workshop Manual (other than "ECU"). Did Renault use acronyms?
