Agreed. To use someone else's word, it's "laughable" that someone would tear out K-Jet because they don't want to/can't understand how it works.  You can diagnose almost any problem with an $80 fuel pressure tester.  The shop manual is surprisingly complete and taught me 95% of what I needed to know to totally rebuild and tune 3 DMC fuel systems so far. I've asked questions for free and learned from them. K-Jet is only expensive if you shotgun replace parts.  A well-tuned K-Jet will have no trouble at all in hot stop and go traffic.  I would guess a carb car would vapor lock long before K-Jet, as factory tuned, would even hiccup.
