Hello Pat,
With regard to the AC panel lights, the best fix is to put in LEDs which
come in bulbs of the right size and type base, run on 12 volts and are a
little less bright, and do not consume as much power and thus, do not create
a much heat. I, and many other DMC owners have even replaced many other
lamps around the car with LEDs...making life easier on switches (switching
less current), wiring and batteries.
Putting LEDS in the courtesy lamps and door lamp sockets will easily allow
you to leave a door open for hours without having an impact on the battery
charge.
Contact me off line for a source and possible types, etc.
