About a month ago I uploaded a file to the DMCNews "Files" section about
modifying the DeLorean door latch to reduce jamming and improve function. (As
a response to a lot of discussion about door problems.) I also uploaded
it, and some additional supporting material, to the DMCTech yahoo group.
Frankly, I was bracing myself for a flurry of emails questioning the
safety of such a modification. ...but nothing happened. I have to guess that
either a) my description of the procedure was so thorough, erudite and
convincing that no one doubts it, or b) nobody bothered to read it, so no
questions were raised. Though I'd love to believe "a" I suspect "b" is the reason.
Anybody actually take the time to read it through? Any questions or
comments? If you decide to take a look, check out Mike Clemens excellent how-to on
rebuilding a DMC steering rack, which he generously created for the good of
the DeLorean community, and allowed me to post on DMCTech, as well as
making it available on other DMC sites.
