Hmmm.  It is an interesting point that, apparently, there is no  
shortage of glass, only good laminate. I wonder if there might be a  
cost-effective way to refurbish the existing stock?  The laminate must  
be applied after the glass is manufactured, right? Redoing that last  
step might conceivably have better economics.
Just a thought...
