Where JZD got his orignal Idea for a rear engined delorean
JZD being in charge of General Motors Chevy Division,in the years of
this prototype one off, most likely already knew what would happen
with a rear engined car with MATCHED size tires, and the engineering
that would be involved to overcome THIS problem if he wanted to have
a safe car to manufaucture, because of the testing on this car,he KNEW
it would be a challenge to overcome, even using a all aluminum engine
(this one off orignally had a all aluminum engine)and a backbone
style frame,So most likely when Lotus engineering proposed to use
this style setup,he knew the Challenges involved to get it
correct,and remembered/ back to these thoughts/insperations/this
failed Corvette when it came to making the Delorean a rear engined
car...look VERY familiar frame wise/engine setup? See the link below.
