I was a member of the DOA for a couple years after purcahsing my car. I had no idea about the regional clubs at the time I joined. I joined to learn about the car. I soon learned that I could join a regional club in my area for 15 dollars a year and receive far more than I did from the DOA being a NJ resident and paying 60 dollars a year at that time. Other than a quarterly magazine I saw no benefit being in the DOA unless you were from Southern California. There were other reasons over time as well but they have been well stated here already by others. All that aside my main question is the same as others have stated. What benfit is there for those to be in a national club that is already better served by most regional ones? Seeing none I would also ask why does it cost 75.00 a year to be a member? I think that price is really high just to be a member of a national group that provides almost nothing on a national level for its members as far as pariticipation goes. PS: I still have heard nothing "new" this time or the last time we were told how the DOA is going to change and any "new" reasons that would incline someone to join. I would be happy to hear some details other than a general statement which sounds good but has no substance. Just my 2 cents.
