[DML] Inline diode to ECU bad????

I just used the #13 How-to guide from MYDELOREAN.NET, for testing the
idle speed switch. I tested the switch itself, and it's fine. I also
have continuity through the black/green wire from the switch to the
inline diode. Also, from the "upstream" side of the diode, I get 0
ohms between that and the chassis ground with the gas pedal at rest,
and about 27 ohms once I press the pedal (open the switch) However, I
do not get the <few hundred ohms on the other side of the diode, which
is pin 8 of the cable, per the guide. I get totally open with the gas
pedal at rest (switch closed) and when pressed (between pin 8 and
chassis). Is the diode bad? How can I test the diode itself? Can I get
locally at an autoparts store, or do I need to order from a D vendor?
Thanks,
Paul
