Interesting concept
How about a device that is on a switched 12v line, and when power gets cut, it starts a 3 day (or user selectable) timer that counts down. At the end of countdown it cuts power from the battery to the rest of the car.
Then somehow reactivate it when the key is inserted and turned, or just have an accessible "reset" button someplace in the car
This could easily be adapted to any car
Anyone want to get rich with me developing this idea further? ;)

Here's an engineering opportunity- how about a kill switch circuit that
turns off power to everything but the low drain kill switch? Every time you press
the lock button on your remote, you essentially disconnect the battery.
Yeah, I know there are issues with clocks, or alarms, but that could be gotten
around. Maybe also an option to self-kill if not used for, say, an hour. It
would also be a security enhancement.

How about it, Toby?
