I agree with Harold. I think he's got it when he points to the brakes because I've run into exactly the same problem before. You can fit small coil springs over the pins the brake pads hang from to stop the noise. The springs will hold the pads away from the rotor until the brake pedal is depressed. Any decent hardware store will have a spring selection. Just pick some that fit nicely over the pins and have a free length about 10 MM or so longer than the distance between the inside surfaces of the brake pad backing plates.. This is a fix that will only cost you a few dollars and just a few minutes of time. A vacuum leak or a brake pad(s) dragging is probably the squeak sound you hear. The brake pad squeak would be amplified if the weather was warmer and humid. Probably the rear brakes since you are thinking you hear a belt. The sound could be attributable to a number or reasons. A brake service is probably in order. However, DeLorean brakes have a history of making noise and still working fine.
