Re: [DML] Fuel Accumulator

Hello John,
I talked to the owner of the Porsche. It is a 1973 Porsche 911 and has the Bosch K Jetonic fuel injection. He says it has a fuel accumulator which he describes as appearing like a canister. He has owned the car for a long time and cannot recall a hot start problem or having to replace the accumulator. He is an engineer who is very knowledgeable about the mechanics of cars he has observed. He has not observed the DeLorean.

I know that the BMWs used the Bosch K Jetonic fuel injection. I have never heard of a hot start problem based on those I knew who had the cars. They have moved on to later models.

If the system works for the Porsche, why can't we adapt our cars to function the same?

The could be a later version of the K Jet. What year and model are there
cars and I will look them up.

I am curious about the Bosch K Jetonic fuel injection used on our cars. Why
do we have a fuel accumulator when my friends with the same fuel injection
designation on their Porsche or BMW do not seem to? If they have the fuel
accumulator, it must be different, since, they do not seem to have the hot
start problem.

Is it possible or practical to convert to their cofiguration?
