[DML] Re: Shimmy While Braking

I forgot to mention when installing the lug nuts they should be done 
in steps and alternated till the correct torque is reached. 
Overtightening and failing to alternate *could* cause a rotor to 
warp. I have never seen it happen on a Delorean, but I have seen it 
on other cars. Other common possible causes of shimmy:
bad tires
low tire pressure
rough road surface
looseness in the steering and/or suspension
bent parts in  the suspension and/or steering

Typically alignment is not an issue but should be checked after 
replacing any worn or bent parts. Again, shimmy is NOT a brake 
related problem unless it occurs as you apply the brakes. If it ONLY 
happens during braking then you still could have other problems 
besides a bad rotor. A good shop will go over everything to make 
sure the car is safe.
