Here is another idea....
Make your "tuna can" with flaps covering holes on the side.  This 
would creat a oneway valve.  This would build the fuel level higher 
than the tank level on hard turns.....hence could run lower.
Easy to test this idea....set your prototype in a pan of water and 
rock it back and forth.
