Thanks Dave for your input, I will always respect what you have to say! 
Your point regarding leak fix could be right on. I say this goo and I 
find it hard to believe it condensed from the coolant.
Regarding the water pump issue. Before all this happened I did replace 
my water pump, belts, otterstat, the pipe that holds the otterstat, 
coolant bottle, head gasket and other seals. Like I said, this car was 
in sorry shape when I picked it up. When the new water pump was 
installed we pressure tested it to 30 PSI for 15 minutes. No issue so I 
know going into this boil over I had a tight collant system. 
Because of the overheat I did replace the thermostat as well as the 
radiator, and over the winter I will replace the head gasket.
