Thanks for the idea. The drive belt is in fine condition. The problem is that nothing will cause the motor to activate. There's no mechanical movement and the unit will not inject a tape. I did take the motor out of circuit and apply power and it does spin, so it's something logic based. Oh well. The owner of this car told me he's not worried about tape operation. I went ahead and fixed the flex cable on the display and reassembled the unit for AM/FM operation only. Thanks for all the replies. Does anyone want a PDF of the service manual? --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "cbl1739" <cbl302@...> wrote: > > > Just like in the old fashion VCR's...The weak points were the rubber > bands or belts, when the cassette was rejected,it was usually caused > by > the rubber bands or belts or whatever you want to call them...going > bad...over time they either stretch or just fall off or break from > age,if the cassette senses, something wrong, with the rubber bands, it > will reject the > tape.Problem is trying to find new rubber bands for that > radio.......... > > Hope that helps. > To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
