Marty, Use a mechanic listening tool to try to isolate.

Subject: [DML] Ringing noise in engine
Hello everyone,
My car has developed a strange noise in the engine. I can best describe
it as the sound of on old fashioned telephone ringer bell, sounding
continuously while the motor is running. I tried using a stick as a
stethoscope, but I can't really confirm where the sound is originating.
It seems to me around the water pump area, but I can't tell if it
really is the pump. The water pump, alternator, and AC bearings all
were replaced when I did my restoration 2500 miles ago.
Has anyone else experienced a noise like this? I really don't want to
go replacing possibly good parts. Instinct tells me it's most likely
the pump, but I want to be sure.
All advice welcomed.
Marty
