Hello:
 
    Thanks to all who responded.  I now know that  some Deloreans had a 
fender mounted antenna, but where in the chronology of  production that this 
occurred is anybody's guess.  I have an early VIN car  (0893) and it has always had 
the rear automatic antenna.
