Competition is good in a free, open, market, yes. But in this case competing "Fall Tours" is not good for the community. It causes too much internal turmoil among the members of the DML and the associated local clubs. We have enough problems with the cocaine and flux capacitor jokes from outsiders, we don't need to create a civil war amongst ourselves. While there were certainly personal issues between many club members, making them public with two dueling tours was not the way to unite the community. And I don't think either tour would have been better or worse if the other didn't exist. It's not like there's a "Best Fall Tour" Award handed out at DCS. I can't speak for the organizers, but it seemed to me they were each trying to make a damn good tour, and not to "out do" each other in the name of competition. If there continues to be two Fall Tours in the east coast areas of the United States, people will go to the tour (or tours) where there will be people they care about seeing and/or is more convenient for them to travel to. It won't be decided by what's being served for dinner, the hotel amenities, or the local sights to be seen or toured. And if there are two Fall Tours next year, how about everyone just focus on the positive of the great community we have here, and not use them to publicly hash out personal issues better dealt with in private. -Hank #1619 On 11/3/06, David Teitelbaum <jtrealty@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I disagree.
