Just a hint here but your driving technique may be the cause, not the transmissions! The automatic is easy to "beat up" but the 5-speed can take a lot of abuse behind a stock PRV and not get busted! Putting any other transmission into a Delorean is a pretty large (read expensive) undertaking. Your "best" choice now, since you have converted the car to manual, is to rebuild or replace the manual transmission and modify your driving style. Depending on how "busted up" the 5-speed is it may be repairable. If it is not, a manual transmission is not all that expensive. Go look over at dmcnews.com for parts.
