Mike Don't worry... the answer to your question is NO, no damage is possible to those parts from a new battery. What probably happened was a bad ground got really bad because of higher voltage or..... just coincidence. It might be that higher voltage caused sparking at ground connection causing carbon buildup to the point where it doesn't work anymore. You will need to check and clean the ground connection at the front crumple tubes. It is accessible by removing the access panel in the trunk... it's on the driver's side bolted from the top of the frame. That should fix your fans as well as the horn and make the fans work better and the horn will probably become louder :) Easy fix! Good luck Tom Niemczewski vin 6149 (in Poland!) One of the cells of my old battery was dry and dead so I replaced it with a Sears Die Hard 795 CCA. I got the car started and began purging air out of the cooling system. When the engine got a little over 200 degrees F. the cooling fans cut on for about 2 seconds and then cut off again. I thought it was just because there was not enough coolant going past the otterstat to make it keep the fans on. But when I had the air purged out of the system the fans still won't come on. I checked the fan wiring from the fan fail mod. and none of my fuses are blown. Also the horn worked when the car was running with the new battery because I accidently pressed it. Now the horn does not work either!!! Is it %$$#@% possible that the new battery has something to do with these two &^%&^*$@!$# failures???!!! Thank you for any adivce! This can't be, can it???
