I found a small green sticker in my boot (trunk to you americans). It had 22/9/1981 on it. My car is a September build. I heard that this sticker is from the emission testing, so I use it as the birth date of my car :-D

I'm assuming that this means my hood was stamped or assembled on February 19, 
1981. I find this interesting because my car wasn't built until June, but 
maybe this shows that the hoods were being produced before the cars were?
