[DML] Removing Window Tint

When I purchased my car, it came with tinting on the  two door windows and 
the rear window also.  I like the tint on the doors  but more often than not the 
rear window tint seems to just make it more  difficult to see out the back, 
especially at night
 
Does anyone have an opinion on whether the rear window  tint is a good idea 
or not?
 
What is the best way to remove the tint and not hurt  the defroster?
