I would add that in 1970, Boss 302 Mustangs were very competitive
in the Trans-Am series.  The DeLorean has no competition history 
of any kind.  In fact, the opposite is true - the DeLorean is in many
ways a cartoon car because of the Back to the Future series.
A fairer comparison would be to look at prices of cars contemporary
to the DeLorean.  For example, the early '80's Mustangs, Camaros, 
Trans Ams, and Corvettes are in similar price ranges.
