I crawled under the dash again this morning and attached my service tach to the studs on the back of the dash tach. Service tach read 775 rpm at idle and wacky is just wacky even as I revved it up. I suppose one of the 16 pin chips is TU. (I'm not up on my electronics. When I studied electronics it was tubes and simple transisters) Since I have two tachs I will take the PC board from the other one and find someone to remove/replace/check what's needed on the board. Thanks again DoctorDHD for the info and all.
