>> Did you tell the seller this is no way possible this >> car has 725 miles on it? >> >> Mark V No. When I actually got to see the car the seller was not there. He was back at his used car lot attending to customers. I went to his mechanic's house where he is doing work to make it drivable for the buyer. The brakes are currently being done along with the innards of the driver door. From what I was told the fuel system, clutch (slave & master) was redone as well. However... in casual conversation about this car and mine the mechanic asked me if I had my angle drive fail on me yet. After my response he went on to say he disconnected this one and is re-working it. IHe says he likes to fix things himself rather than paying someone else to do it if he has the ability to fix different stuff. So that tells me the mechanic knows the milage is not correct and the owner is either not telling the truth or just plain oblivious. (you can make your own used car salesman jokes here) The mechanic works on other local DeLoreans and seemed quite knowledgeable so it should be a decent driver when done but not a overly nice car. It did have a bunch of rust on the front crumple tube, but I've seen much worse on daily drivers. I wasn't impressed with the lack of cushion between or placement of the jack stands. The muffler heat shield was burnt thru in the center. Much worse than when I replaced mine at 70+ k miles. If the mechanic is free, I'm taking another DeLorean owner over to see it again this evening, so if there is anything specific anyone wants me to ask or take pictures of let me know.
