Thanks for the input.  For the life of me I can't think of anything at all that would be causing it, but you are right - it is exactly like a resonance of some kind.  I'll drive it tonight and see if I percieve it being there still.  
 
As for the possibility of a burnout - this was on a painted shop floor which is being recoated in a week, so I had less than ideal traction.  But that baby squeeled the whole way out.  It was kinda fun and it satisfied my ego for a while.  Everyone at work thought it was cool too ;-)  I won't try it again though because i would hate to blow the clutch or something.  On the other hand, there are a lot of owners that drive way harder than I do.  I am usually quite gentle!
