It sounds like you may have a dead spot in your starter.
When it happens again, try pushing the car forward a little at a time until
you find a point where it starts. If you roll it backwards and it fails to
start, you have a dead spot for sure.

Yesterday I took my D out and left it in a parking lot for about 30 minutes. I came back out and tried to start the car and nothing happened. The engine didn't even try to turn over.
