They are sealed bearings that cannot be cleaned or greased. All you can do is check for excessive side play. If the car was ever flooded up to the bearings then they should be changed out. As Dave S says until they get loose or noisy they should be fine. They are expensive so don't change them unless you really need to. Just about all of us ARE running on 20 year old bearings and we don't hear anything about front end failures except for the cars that have rusted out or cars that didn't have the recalls done. ( you really can squirt some grease into them with a needle through the seal but I don't recomend it).
