I have 20,000 miles on the midstate shocks which are
coupled to Rob Grady's 1.5" lower front springs.
while they are a bit softer than the 20 year old
shocks, they are not "soft".
Unless you are using your D in autocross or true road
racing events, these shocks should be just the ticket.
They have made a very nice road car even nicer.
