Mercedes Benz had another Gullwing Safety car called the C1113. The car had a wankel rear mounted rotary engine, with the identical seats and binnacle from the DeLorean prototypes. The Mercedes was gearing up for production in late 1977 when the second "energy crisis" hit in 1978. There are only 6-7 of these C1113 known to exist and they all reside in the Mercedes museum in Stuggart Germany.
