Without disparaging Delorean 1, you can do a lot to a PRV motor and 
not get anywhere near $12,000. I hope they did more then just rebuild 
the motor. BTW I would expect it to run like a Swiss watch for that 
money!
About the shift mechanism for the automatic, go to the Parts Manual 
4-6-0. You can see you can access the mechanism from inside the 
console. There are some differences depending on you vin #. If you 
don't have a Parts manual you can download it at DMCNEWS.COM.
