Pretty much, I'm sure that everyone here would like to see the dies 
recovered. However, over the years here on the DML, and elsewhere, 
there is one question that remains unasnwered about the dies: Who 
owns them as of right now? In short, recovery of the dies would be 
great, but I would hate to see all that effort go into raising them, 
only to have someone else lay claim, and take them. A bit more 
research needs to go into this before any action is taken.

Great pains were taken to insure that no one would be able to get 
their hands on those molds. So it is a realistic possibility that 
someone may still put forth efforts to keep those dies inaccessable 
to anyone.
