Joseph, Do you have any auxiliary lights on your car? Fog lights, aftermarket headlamps, etc, that are tied into your headlight circuit? I did, and my switch melted also. Then I figured out my foglights were the problem. Other than that I'm not sure. Maybe some wires are shorted out.
