As I have mentioned before, I am in contact with the interior trim 
company in Belfast responsible for the DeLorean (credit to Paul Salsbury 
for tracking them down). Thay are still in business and have recently 
re-skinned my seats, binnacle and knee-pads (black), and Paul's seats. 
The same guy owns the business still , and many of his employees worked 
for DMC. He told me they did several experimental pieces by hand, 
including burgundy, plus the saddle brown for the gold cars. The 
prototypes had full hand-stitched leather as a point of interest.
