Hi Joe, Thanks for your response and help. The compressor has done this since being charged about two years ago. It blows cold air but was cycling about every 5 seconds. I have the switch adjusted so the A/C compressor runs almost constant with the engine running around 2000 rpm. You say the engage or "on" time of the compressor should be no less than 7 seconds with the engine RPM at 3000. Does that mean I can adjust it to be "on" more than 7 seconds at 3000 rpm? If so, how much more should I let it run before turning off again at that rpm or say even around 2000 rpm. I don't mind buying another switch but was hoping I could just adjust it myself until I get the car into the shop for other things. Will I hurt anything if I let it go like it is for a while. Next time I'll ask before assuming the article is correct. Thank you Mike Atkinson vin 16232
