As a new owner, the biggest problem I have is understanding how various parts of the car are supposed to work (this is a problem because most of the systems on my car do not operate correctly -- if I haven't fixed it, it doesn't work!). For instance, it was weeks before I understood how the dome lights were supposed to work. I have never seen dome lights that work in such a fashion. Anyway, I currently have 2 questions along these lines that maybe someone can answer before I start tearing up panels and tracing wires and figuring it out on my own. 1) Rear defrost -- My dash bulb was burnt out, no big deal. Now that I have replaced the buld, pressing the switch forward turns the bulb on but the bulb turns right back off when I release the button. This *may* be proper operation since the car isn't cold. However, the rear defrost may also work on a timer, in which case the system would not be operating correctly. Can someone tell me how the rear defrost is supposed to work? 2) I have the rear mounted power antenna. And of course, I haven't fixed it yet, so it doesn't work. From what I read, there should be a relay for the power antenna behind the seat of the car? But this is not really the information I am looking for. My power antenna has 2 wires running to it (not including the actual antenna connection). Furthermore, the bracket it is mounted to is a good ground (whether or not this ground is used I don't know). The two wires running to it are red and green. Both of these wires have 12V power at all times. This can't possibly be correct. Before I start dismantling the power antenna, does anyone know what these wires are supposed to do? Thanks, Scott
