In many cases the sender switch on the left rear of the engine for the 
oil light leaks, runs down the side of the motor and then runs around 
the rail of the oil pan making it look like it is the oil pan gasket. 
Check out the switch, remove and reseal with silicone and see if you 
don't have to remove the oil pan. You may anyway to repair the threads 
in the drain but maybe not.
