Is it going to be a "bin" for people to submit ideas for a Startup
Guide for the DeLorean? Or is this going to be a 2nd version of the
DML? I can understand creating a bulletin board to post ideas to.
That way you can keep both an online record, and you can have people
further elaborate on those ideas as things progress. Or is this going
to be a tech list where people can post problems with thier cars, and
then have technical advice offered? If so, then that's already here
on the DML. I'm not saying anything in an attempt to knock anyone or
their ideas. It's just that not only is the DML already in place, but
we have many people here who just by reading the daily postings alone
are able to "proofread" advice and repair procedures for inaccuracies
and so forth. There are many list members here who come from all
walks of life. In their own ways they provide unique information
along with common knowlege that helps to aid us all with specific
areas of our cars. 2 lists are too many too keep track of.

Good questions. No, it's not a "bin" or a second DML, or a place to ask
personalized questions. And yes, two lists may be too much. Actually, even
the DML itself is too much. That's why I have a separate screen name just
for the DML. Otherwise, any personal message I get could get avalanched.
Aren't you glad the DML is moderated! A substantial number of posts never
make it to the List.
DMCTech is basically an ever growing FAQ resource housing, ultimately, I
hope, the largest collection of otherwise not-in-print DeLorean repair,
upgrade, diagnostic and maintenance data in an easily accessible, usable form.
I love the DML. I post all the time. But I can never find anything in the
vault. It's like looking for a needle in a virtual haystack. Sheesh! Easier
to re-ask the same question, for most people. Why? Because e-mail titles
often don't really reflect content. Posts often contain several disparate
ideas. And they're organized chronologically, not topically. Imagine if you
had to use a phone book that was organized not alphabetically, but
chronologically according to when people got a telephone. Now imagine it
doesn't list their real name. Any nickname, the pet's name. Anything. That's
how people post to the DML. It's not a flaw... it's just the way it is. And
that's the way DMCTech won't be. Everything incoming will be identified
logically, (the way I renamed this post for reply... you know exactly what
it's about,) and cropped of extraneous matter. If two lists is too much,
just set up an additional screen name, with a digest delivery, and ignore it.
That way you have access, but never need to look at it if you don't want to.
OK?
For the fastest and best answer, don't email DMCTech. Ask your vendor. Or
look in the DMCTech files. Or ask a question on the DML. Vendor is best, but
not available 24/7. DMCTech is faster than waiting for someone to answer on
the DML. And DML can get you an answer at all odd hours whether the answer is
in print at DMCTech or not. Plus DML has a thousand subscribers, who could
possibly answer. DMCTech has 59 at present, probably all of whom are already
on, and will stay on, the DML where they can and will still answer questions
that come up. It's not a competing site.
Any questions?
