On the first cars, there was an embedded antenna in the windshield. 
However, due to poor reception, it was then replaced by a fixed mast 
antenna on the right front fender. This fixed mast was then replaced 
by a manually retractable one, in the same location. Then, later in 
'81, they put a power telescoping antenna in the rear of the car, 
coming out of the vent behind the driver's side quater panel glass. 
However, I believe there was some discontinuity with the power 
antennas. I've seen Oct. builds with the power one, stock. But I 
have also seen Nov. builds with the retracting one up front, this 
includes my car. Thats one for those concourse books!
