The power lock system in the DeLorean operates on the same principal as any other two door vehicle locking system. Each door is fitted with a double action solenoid. A switch at each door operated by both an interior lock button and external key will activate both door lock solenoids. The locking system is designed to be operated with both doors closed. The problems with the DeLorean locking system are confined to the module or "brain" that controls the solenoid activation. Fortunately the Lockzilla upgrade eliminates all of the original problems. For a full headliner refurbish including quality installation expect to pay $300 to $450.
