The fact is that the drilled rotors are a direct result of the video industry's need to see some kind of rotational movement when doing close up's of tire changes in the pits at races. With out the little rotating holes the cameras only see an un-moving shiny disk. This critical part of every race would be lost if the rotors were solid as they are in street cars of low grade and quality.
