Dave,
When you shined the black light on
the instrument panel, was the transparent face still covering the panel, or was
it removed? Glass and also (I think) clear plastic tend to absorb UV
light very efficiently. If it was still covering the panel, try
shining the black light onto the exposed gauges and see what happens. I
really like your idea, by the way. Creative.
