The only "barn" discovery I am aware of is mine, "DUSTY" was discovered in a barn only 25 miles from where I live ( in the middle of England) Dusty was bought my a local business man from an car auction, following the collapse of the DeLorean factory. Dusty is also a Right Hand Drive. In the early 80's Deloreans were not too popular with the British authorities, so when people came to register/tax them for road use, some local taxing offices tried to put obstacles in the way, asking question about "type approval" lights etc. Dusty's old owner did not pursue the matter and simply left the car, sat in a gloomy, dusty, but dry barn. I arranged to go and photograph it, but when I saw it covered in filth, but basically "like new" underneath it all...I knew I had to have it! I had to pay a very good price for it, but I was happy. I borrowed a covered car transporter to take it home in. I kept all the muck on it for the next few weeks, so that it could appear "as barn fresh" at our big classic car show (NEC). It was a big hit with the public ( see pictures on our website www.delorean.co.uk ). Judging by what I've read on DML, I was very lucky with how easy it was to get it running. All I did was change the oil and filter, put in two gallons of unleaded, new battery, and when I turned the key the "son of a gun" burst into life! Everthing else worked, eletric, windows, lights, brakes, etc. The clutch made a few funny noises at first, but soon cleared. Now Dusty is "all scrubbed up", and still with only 4 miles on the clock! She is now a "trailer queen". Chris Hon Sec. DOC. Does anybody have anymore information about that car cause it definetly sounds like an interesting story. I was thinking about it and if somebody just bought the car and let it sit in some random barn I would like to know more, its just to mysteroius. > > Thanks > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > Before posting messages or replies, see the posting policy rules at: > www.dmcnews.com/Admin/rules.html > > To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: > moderator@xxxx >
