| Hopefully everyone has recieved their blackout kits
by now.  They were scheduled to be delivered saturday.  Man, was this
a project.  (the engine swap is going smoother than the blackout kits
did!)  I must say that everything that could have gone wrong, did go
wrong.  From the shop runing out of clear plexy, to the brackets, to
shipping.  I hope everyone is happy with the final result.  If there
are any problems, feel free to contact me directly.  BTW, Lee I have ALOT
of respect for you now :o)   On the subject of the engine swap, I have finally
run into my first major problem.  I am using a '94 Vortec 4.3 engine and it
has a one piece rear seal and the engine in externally balanced.  Well, the
torque converter I have was made for an older Chevy engine (two piece rear seal,
internally balanced) The flywheel has 6 notches outset towards the torque
converter (where you put the bolts thru to mount the torque converter) and the
torque converter is too long and won't spin freely once everything is bolted
up.  I took the torque converter to a local machine shop so that 3/16 of an
inch can be taken off the torque converter.  I hope to have this completed
by tomorrow afternoon and, if so, will have the engine in tomorrow night.
I will be posting new pics either tonight or tomorrow night. Thanks, Duke |
