[DML] Importing Deloreans

Hi list!
I have been lucky enough to evade the pounds/dollars curse with my import,
for now at least. At the moment, after shipping and duty I am still a good
£3K below the dollar rate at which the car cost, I'm not for a minute
suggesting that I won't spend that on the car (!) but she's been a cheap car
so far!
I might as well make this my official entry in the world of ownership! I
have bought vin# 5641 just before christmas, she's still in limbo between
the shipping company and my loving arms but I should have her next week (I
am SOOOO excited!). She's an '81, 5-speed (left hand drive), has 15K miles
on her and she has been painted but in shiny silver! God only knows why but
at first glance she looks stainless (and will be after I've finished with
her!). Hmmm, even though I'm a new owner I've followed the list for a good
year/18 months and it's already been invaluable, thanks!
My only critism of the car? The clutch. I can source anything from the US,
but here in England it's like getting blood from a stone! Still, nearly
there....

VIN #5641 (YES! MINE!)

Importing cars,
By the time it is on the road in UK we have just about changed dollars in
pounds, with shipping, duty, etc.etc.
