Hello,
My new complete right door arrived today for my DeLorean and I would like
to put it on soon so it doesnt get damaged sitting in my garage. I guess I
dont really understand how the torsion bar works. I want to know how to do
this properly so I dont mess anything up. heres where I am at so far.
Removing the complete damaged door: heres what I dont get The manual says
"insert 3/8 allen wrench in allen socket on torsion bar. apply balancing
torque clockwise for RH door to unload restraint braket"
I really dont understand how I am supposed to do this. I dont see how
you can pull the torsion bar out because I thought it would spin if you did.
Obviously I am not getting something. Could someone please help me out? I
just want my door off! by the way, my rear window was knocked out in a car
accident so I dont have to worry about that getting broke.
oh, what parts supplier has the best gas struts? I remember someone
saying that there was one that slowed down at the end of its stroke so the hin
ges wouldnt be damaged. who has those?
Thank You,
David
