It (Engine cut-off under hard braking) may be fuel starvation. If the
pickup is flexing during braking there may be a loss of fuel flow. The
pickup is supposed to be attached to a stud in the bottom of the tank to
prevent movement. Other fuel flow options would include a small break in
the hose that opens up when flexed under said braking conditions.
